Once I paid those down, my scores shot through the roof! Paying more than the minimum and paying on time definitely assisted me in my quest for better credit. There are many nations in the world for which a 95% employment rate would be an economic boom of enormous porportions. The reality is the 96-67% of Americans are still making their mortgage payments on a timely basis. Like you rightly point out...real estate is local. Some areas are experiencing a very painful correction...but this is not the case everywhere. Perspective is very important. Very good article.
